MUW vice president for student affairs noted for accomplishments

COLUMBUS, Miss.-- Dr. Gail Stephens, vice president of student affairs at Mississippi University for Women, was recently chosen to appear in the ninth edition of "International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women."

The honorees are selected based upon their individual accomplishments in both traditional and nontraditional fields from the publication's team of researchers and editors. Stephens has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, particularly in the field of student affairs, with five of those years at MUW.

Previous editions of the book have recognized such influential women as Sandra Day O'Conner, Jodie Foster, Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Dole, Margaret Thatcher, Maya Angelou, Barbara Bush, Yoko Ono, Steffi Graf and Liza Minelli.

The new edition will be released later this year.
