PRAM-North sponsors seminar and Over the Shoulder Day

COLUMBUS, Miss.- The Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM)-North will sponsor a seminar and its annual Over the Shoulder Day on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Interested individuals will hear from speakers about promoting community, business and self.

Promoting community will be Nina Parikh of the Mississippi Film Commission in Jackson. Don O'Bannon, owner of Oby's Restaurant in Starkville, will promote business. Promoting self will be Tammy Craddock, owner of Jubilations Cheesecake in Columbus.

In addition to the seminar, college students will be paired with PRAM members and given a firsthand glimpse into the areas of public relations and marketing.

PRAM-North, was formed to further the cause of public relations through education and networking. Its members are comprised of professional men and women from the Golden Triangle area who are working in public relations or marketing positions in their industry. The president is Anita Murray who is in charge of physician services at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

The program, which is open to the public, is being sponsored by BMH-GT, the Columbus Bank Association, WEBZ Media and MUW and will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Country Club. Other Over the Shoulder participants include Boy Scouts of America, Kerr-McGee, Mississippi Valley Gas, Trustmark, Quest Marketing and the United Way.

Registration is $25 and must be received by Monday, Oct. 18. Registration fee for students with proper ID, is $10 (with lunch and free without) and $30 for those who pay at the door. Registration forms are available at sponsor locations.
