Released September 3, 2002 MUW welcomes new faculty and staff COLUMBUS, Miss. -- In addition to many new students on campus this fall, Mississippi University for Women also welcomed 19 new faculty and staff members. "The excellent academic programs that MUW offers depends on our having first-rate faculty, so we are always seeking such faculty to add to the MUW family," said Dr. Claudia A. Limbert, president. "Our newest faculty are indeed first-rate in every way and will enable us to continue our long tradition of excellence in education."We are equally proud of the new staff members we have added. Having a talented and dedicated staff is extremely important to our goal of offering a quality product to our students." New faculty members include Tara Andrews of Columbus, instructor in family studies; Dr. Deborah Bailey from Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates, assistant professor of family studies; Lauren Bearden of Columbus, instructor in Spanish; Chris Campbell from the University of Louisiana, head volleyball coach and instructor in health and kinesiology; Kristen Cole from Michigan State University, assistant professor of music; Linda Hendrix of Milton, Fla., assistant professor and coordinator of technical services, Fant Memorial Library; Richard Holden of Columbus, assistant professor of education; Rochelle Hughes of Columbus, instructor in nursing; Dr. Melina Vaughan of Columbus, assistant professor of education; Jeffrey Weddle of Starkville, assistant professor of communications; Dr. Mona Whitson of Columbus, visiting professor of biology; and Dr. Joyce Yates of Eupora, associate professor of health and kinesiology.Joining the MUW staff are Cort Casey of Memphis, Tenn., admissions counselor; Robyn Davis of Vancleave, admissions counselor; Jameesa Jones of Columbus, financial aid office assistant; Steve Smith of Columbus, coordinator of scholarships; Chandra Steele of Louisville, care teacher I in the Child and Parent Development Center; Jared Woodall of Meridian, patrol officer; and Robin Yekaitis of Columbus, testing coordinator. |
