RE:  P.S. 8504

I am recommending cancellation of P.S. 8504 – Selection of Outstanding Advisor, Outstanding Student Leader, Outstanding Organization—Honorary, Outstanding Organization.

Rationale:

1. The reviewer, the University Activity Board, also was assigned responsibility for making this selection.  The University Activity Board has been abolished with the cancellation of P.S. 8503.

2. Outstanding Student Leader is similar to the Spirit Award, acknowledged annually at the awards ceremony in the spring.

3. Selection of superlatives should be at the discretion of the university, not mandated in policy.
