OPERATING DETAILS: 

1. All requirements for textbooks and related materials/supplies to be used in the classroom will be made known to the Bookstore by the deadline for adoptions.
2. The Bookstore will make available to students the textbooks and related materials/supplies which are specified by the teaching staff for a program of study.
3. Academic Departments, Faculty members, or Student Associations will not engage in selling textbooks and/or specified related course materials/supplies without the written approval of the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Academic Officer.
4. Where applicable, standardization of electronic remotes and other devices is encouraged.
PROCEDURES
1. Requests for textbooks and related materials/supplies as specified by the teaching staff are to be made in writing using the procedures set by the Bookstore.
2. Requests for textbooks and/or related course materials or supplies specified by the teaching staff must be approved by the Academic Department Chair.  The Academic Department Chair will review the selection for conformity with guidelines regarding low-cost texts. The Academic Department Chair will file the signed forms with the Bookstore.
3. Required textbooks must be used for a minimum of two academic semesters (fall and/or spring) and during any intervening summer sessions, assuming that edition remains available, except under exceptional circumstances approved by the Chief Academic Officer.
4. Written requests for cancellation of required textbooks are to be submitted by the Academic Department Chair one full semester prior to the semester the book's use is to be discontinued.
5. It is expected that faculty members will make it necessary for students to purchase the textbooks ordered for their individual classes.
6. The Bookstore will inform Academic Department Chairs of deadlines for textbook orders.
7. Copies of new editions of textbooks for the freshman core curriculum will be made available in the library.
