OPERATING DETAILS:

Advertising is
defined as the posting or distribution of any printed matter or the use
of
public address systems on the MUW campus. All off-campus individuals or
entities
desiring to advertise or place exhibits on campus or to recruit
students must request
written permission from the Office of the Vice President for Student
Services. University student organizations
that advertise their own
university-approved
activities or those co-sponsored with an off-campus agency, and
university
units which sponsor or co-sponsor events that are scheduled on the
university
calendar may advertise according to the terms of this policy without
having
this written permission. Student organizations may not advertise
activities
that have not been approved by the Office of Student Services.
2.
Posters,
banners, signs, circulars or other means of advertisement displayed on
campus
must bear the name of the sponsoring organization. Persons responsible
for
individual buildings may determine where
advertisements may be placed in the building. Advertisements are not to
be
placed on painted walls. Banners may be hung only in designated areas
on
campus.
3.
The on-campus
distribution of handbills or circulars on cars or car windshields will
not be
permitted without written permission from the Office of the Vice
President for
Student Services.
4.
Any form of
advertising or solicitation that obstructs traffic entering or leaving
university buildings is prohibited.
5.
The campus
mail system is not to be used for personal or commercial solicitation
or
advertisement. Advertisement, through
the campus mail system, of approved activities or fund-raising events
conducted
by administrative units and student organizations is permitted.
