TITLE: Textbooks and Related Materials/Supplies

POLICIES
1. All requirements by departments for textbooks and related materials/supplies to be used in the classroom will be made known to the University Bookstore by mid term of the previous regular term.
2. The University Bookstore will make available to students the textbooks and related materials/supplies which are specified by the teaching staff for a program of study.
3. Academic Departments, Faculty members, or Student Associations will not engage in selling textbooks and/or specified related course materials/supplies without the written approval of the Chief Financial Officer and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
PROCEDURES
1. Requests for textbooks and related materials/supplies as specified by the teaching staff are to be made in writing using the standard book request form and the art and supply order information form. These may be obtained from the bookstore.
2. Requests for textbooks and/or related course materials or supplies specified by the teaching staff must be signed by the Division Head. The Division Head will file the signed forms with the Manager's Office in the Bookstore.
3. Required textbooks must be used for a minimum of two academic semesters (fall and/or spring) and during any intervening summer sessions except under exceptional circumstances approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
4. Written requests for cancellation of required textbooks are to be submitted by the Academic Division one full semester prior to the semester the book's use is to be discontinued.
5. It is expected that faculty members will make it necessary for students to purchase the textbooks ordered for their individual classes.
6. The University Bookstore will send memoranda informing Division Heads of deadlines for textbook orders.
