1.
Any
student who is currently enrolled in at least six MUW
credit hours during a fall or spring semester may live in the residence
halls
for that semester.
2.
Students
desiring to live in the residence halls must sign a
contract for the academic year (August through May). Students
wishing to
opt out of their contract must present their reasons in writing to the
Director
of Community Living. Otherwise, students will be charged for the
full
length of their contract.
3.
A
non-refundable application fee is required with each
individual housing application. There is no refund of this fee even if
a
student decides not to live in the residence halls.
4.
All
residence hall students must purchase a
meal plan option.
5.
Commuting
students and faculty/staff may stay in the
residence halls at special rates for short periods of time provided
arrangements are made through the Department of Community Living.
6.
Guests
of resident students are permitted to stay overnight
in the residence for a maximum of two nights per month. If this
involves the
use of a vacant room, a charge will be assessed. An overnight guest
must be of
the same sex as the host/hostess and must be registered with the
Community Advisor.
Students are responsible for their guest and will be subject to
disciplinary
action if their guest violates housing or university regulations.
7.
Periods
of official vacations and the period between
semesters are not included in the semester residence hall fees. There
will be
an additional charge for students remaining in university housing after
the
official closing time each semester.
8.
Students
will be assessed for the cost of damages to their
rooms and may be assessed for damages to common areas. Residents
will
also be assessed a fee for improper check out if they leave the halls
without
being checked out of their room by a member of the residence hall
staff.
9.
Failure
to abide by the published residence life rules and
regulations may result in loss of residence hall privileges.
