PURPOSE:  To define the function of the Academic Privacy Act Appeals Committee

REVIEW DATE: Fall 2011 and every five years thereafter
OPERATING DETAILS:

1.
The Academic Privacy Act Appeals committee is designed to hear grievances arising from the application of the Privacy Rights of Students and Parents as outlined in the MUW Student Handbook.

Grievances may arise should a student request a change in educational records that he/she believes to be inaccurate or misleading.

3.
A request for a committee hearing should be addressed to the Registrar.

4.
Membership of this Committee is appointed by the President of the University and consists of six faculty members: one from each College of the University and two at large.
