How do I register for Orientation?

You may use one of two forms to register for Orientation. If you received a brochure in the mail, you fill out the registration portion and send that in with a check or money order to the address given. If you did not receive an Orientation brochure, you may print one from the Orientation website.

Am I required to attend Orientation?

While you are not required to attend Orientation as a transfer student, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this chance to schedule classes, meet other transfer students, and to learn about MUW traditions and involvement opportunities.

 Why come to Orientation?

You will have the opportunity to meet new people, receive academic and departmental advising, find out how to get involved on campus, learn about general education and graduation requirements, find a roommate, tour the campus, learn MUW traditions, and get your e-mail account and ID.

Can a family member or guest attend with me?

We encourage your family members to share in this experience with you. Transitioning to a new university setting is not only a process that affects you, but it also affects your family members. Because of this, there is a parent and family memeber schedule designed with these important people in mind. They will have the opportunity to learn about MUW and how to help you succeed while you are here.

How much does it cost to attend?

The fee for Orientation is $35 for transfer students. The fee for each additional person that attends with you is also $35.

What does my fee cover?

Your registration fee of $35 includes two meals, all session materials, staffing, and operational costs. The Office of Orientation does not receive any profit from your registration fee.

Do I have to be admitted to MUW before I come to Orientation?

Yes! Because you will not be able to make your class schedule if you are not admitted to MUW, you have to be admitted to the University before attending Orientation.

What do I need to bring?

If you would like to purchase souvenirs in the campus book store, you should bring extra spending money to take advantage of our bookstore bonus time. The day of Orientation, you will receive a 20% discount on clothing and gifts in the Bookend!

Do I need to do anything before I come to Orientation?

You should make sure that you have been admitted to the University and that you have submitted all of your records (Immunization Forms and an updated official transcript). You may contact the Office of Admissions at 1-877-462-8439 if you have any questions about your admission status.

Can I stay on campus the night before Orientation?

Yes! If it is more convenient for you to stay on campus the night before Orientation, you may do so at no extra charge. Just contact the Office of Community Living at 662-329-7127 to make reservations.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing and postmarked no later than 14 days prior to the Orientation session.
