
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1. |
All applicants must have verification of at least one
year's work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse prior to admission |

to the LPN / RN Advanced Placement Option. Documentation
from employer(s) must be submitted with application. |
||

|
||
|
2. |
Prerequisite courses must be completed as follows: |

Human Physiology |

(Students must have completed BOTH Human Physiology
and Human Anatomy with Lab OR Anatomy and Physiology I and II.) |

3. |
MUW GPA and overall GPA on all work attempted must be = or
> 2.5. Transcript or grade slips of all college work attempted must
be mailed to the ASN Program office along with an Application for Admission
to the LPN/RN Advanced Placement Option. |
||

4. |
An official document showing ACT score must be submitted
with the application. A score on a transcript, a score sheet (or copy) from ACT,
or a residual score on official letterhead will be acceptable. |
||
|
|
(a) Students must have an ACT composite score of 15 if
taken before October 1989, or 18 if taken in or after October 1989. |
||
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(b) If space is available, students with less than the
required ACT composite score may be considered. They must have
completed a minimum of 12 semester hours with a 2.5 GPA before being
admitted. They must have made at least a grade of "C" on anatomy
and physiology courses, which are included in the above 12 semester hours. |

5. |
If the student has ever been enrolled in a Registered
Nurse program, we must have a letter from that nursing school stating that
the student is eligible for readmission into that nursing program. |
||

ADMISSION PROCEDURES:
|
|
|
|
1.
|
After May 15th the Admissions Committee will select
applicants for admission. This selection will be based on overall GPA and
ACT score. Applicants will be notified of their admission status in
writing by June 1. |
|
|
|
|
2. |
All students who are admitted to nursing are responsible
for applying separately to the University and insuring that University
requirements are met. |
