ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

2. MUW grade point average and overall grade point average
on all work attempted must be = or > 2.5. Transcript or grade slips of all
college work attempted must be mailed to the Associate of Science in Nursing
Program office along with an Application for Admission to the ASN Program.
3. An official document
showing ACT score must be submitted with the application. A score on a
transcript, a score sheet (or copy) from ACT, or a residual score on official
letterhead will be acceptable.
(a) Students must have an ACT
composite score of 15 if taken before October 1989, or 18 if taken in or
after October 1989.
(b)
If space is available, students with less than the required ACT composite
score may be considered. They must have completed a minimum of 12
semester hours with a 2.5 grade point average before being admitted. They
must have made at least a grade of "C" on Anatomy and Physiology
courses, which are included in the above 12 semester hours.
ALL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND
CURRENT ADMISSION APPLICATION MUST BE IN THE ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN NURSING
PROGRAM CHAIR'S OFFICE BY JUNE 1 TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION. IT IS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO INSURE THAT ALL REQUESTED MATERIALS ARE
RECEIVED BY THE ASN PROGRAM.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES:
1. After June 1st
composite admission scores will be computed based on overall GPA and ACT
score. Each requirement will count 1/2 of the total composite admission
score. Applicants will be notified of their admission status in writing prior
to July 1.
2. All students who are
admitted to nursing are responsible for applying separately to the University
and insuring that University requirements are met.
3. Students having at
least a 20 ACT score, a 2.75 GPA, and a "C" or above in Human
Anatomy, Human Physiology and College Algebra may be considered for
early selection. In order to be considered the candidate must submit a
completed application to the ASN Program office to include all transcripts
verifying the GPA, the Physiology, Anatomy and College Algebra
grades, and a copy of an ACT score of at least 20 by January 15th.
Notification of early selection will be approximately January 31st. All
transcripts must be sent directly to the ASN Program. It is the student's
responsibility to confirm that all documents have been received by the
deadline.
