* Humanities and Fine Arts must include at least 3 hours of History Survey, Literature Survey and Fine Arts History.

Important Advising Notes

  • HED Electives must be 3 credit-hour courses with an HED, or KIN prefix (i.e., 1 credit-hour activity courses will not meet this requirement) or other approved “Health-Related” course.
  • The “Humanities & Fine Arts” is a 12-hour (4 courses) General Education requirement that includes at least 3 hours (1 course) from each of the following areas: History Survey; Literature Survey; Fine Arts/Appreciation.  The student must choose an additional course from one of the three areas to complete the 12-hour requirement.  See the General Education requirements for specific courses.
  • The “Social Sciences” requirement includes courses from Business, Geography. Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Religion or Women’s Studies.  See the General Education requirements for specific courses.
  • The “Critical Thinking” requirement can be completed by any Philosophy (non-religion) course.  See the General education requirements for specific courses.
