1. Check your browser version
You will need to check your browser version. You may check your
browser version by following these steps:
- For Internet Explorer, go to Help menu and click on About
Internet Explorer
- For Netscape, go to Help menu and click on About
Communicator
2. Follow the appropriate configuration
instructions for your browser.
Netscape 4.x
- Click on Edit in the menu bar
- Select Preferences
- Click on the + sign to the left of the word Advanced
- Click on Proxies
- Select Automatic Proxy Configuration
- In the space provided for Configuration Location
(URL), type http://www.muw.edu/netop/proxy/proxy.pac
- Then, click OK

7.x
- Click on Edit in the menu bar
- Select Preferences
- Click on Advanced
- Click on Proxies
- Select Automatic Proxy Configuration URL to http://www.muw.edu/netop/proxy/proxy.pac
- Then, click OK

Setting proxy
- Click on View in the menu bar
- Select Internet Options
- In the Internet Options, click on Connections
- In the Automatic Configuration section click on Configure
- In the space provided for Configuration Location
(URL), type http://www.muw.edu/netop/proxy/proxy.pac
- Then, click OK
- Click OK to return to Internet Explorer
- NOTE: Do not select the Use a proxy server box
below the Automatic Configuration box
- Click on Tools in the menu bar.
- Under Tools, select Internet Options
- In Internet Options, click on the Connections
tab
- Click on LAN settings
- Click on Use automatic configuration script
- Type the address: http://www.muw.edu/netop/proxy/proxy.pac
- Click OK

Some Internet applications may require manual proxy settings.
