Students who graduate with honors leave MUW with
a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist them
in the next stage of their lives. Here is just a
sample of where recent honors graduates have gone
after MUW:
Karen Ziegler, class of 2000, graduated from law
school and works at the Children's Hospital
Foundation in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Amrita Balachandran, class of 2005, is pursuing a
doctorate in immunology at the University of
Pittsburgh.
Katreece Ellis, class of 2006, is attending the
University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Susie Baker, class of 2006, is attending MSU's
College of Veterinary Medicine.
Bridget Singleton, class of 2006, is attending the
University of South Alabama's College of Medicine.
Emily Hobbs, class of 2007, is serving in the Peace
Corps in Francophone Africa.
Amber King, class of 2007, is working on a master's
degree in English at the University of Alabama.
Carrie Pate, class of 2007, is working at Gulf Coast
Family Counseling in Ocean Springs while preparing
to go to graduate school.
While at MUW, honors students have many
opportunities to prepare for their future
professional lives. Here is just a sample of
experiences that recent and current honors students
have had through the Honors College:
Irene Miller attended a seminar on Leaders on
Leadership in Washington, D.C., summer 2007.
Rachel Delk delivered a paper based on her honors
project at the conference of the Southern States
Communication Association in Louisville, Kentucky,
spring 2007.
Megan Stoner delivered a paper at the SW/TX Popular
Culture Association/American Culture Association
Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, spring
2007, and will deliver two more papers (one of which
is based on her honors project) at the same
conference spring 2008. She also delivered a paper
at the fall 2007 conference for the National
Collegiate Honors Council.Erin Williams was
elected the BSN state-wide representative of the
Mississippi Association of Student Nurses in 2007.
