Objective
HO 101 -- Honors Forum Syllabus,
Fall 2002
Objective: The purpose of the Honors Forum is to provide an educational and challenging program for the Honors Students on a bi-monthly basis. The meetings may include a variety of activities such as formal presentations, films, and discussions. The meetings will take place in Carrier Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Attendance: The student is permitted to miss the forum only once during the term. Anyone who signs into the forum and does not sign out will be considered absent once for every two times. Anyone who sits and talks or studies during the presentation will be marked absent without the opportunity to make up that absence. One cannot expect an opportunity to make up for every excessive absences although one can be redeemed by attendance at a campus cultural event. An excused absence is, nevertheless, an absence. Expectations:
The requirements of the forum include regular attendance and participation
in the bi-montly programs in Carrier Chapel. The student will turn
in a one-page summary of the content of each forum before s/he leaves the
two-hour session. You will not be counted present if this summary
is not turned in, and they cannot be turned in late. Every student
is expected to have an e-mail address and to check her/his e-mail regularly.
This is a requirement, and failure to comply will result in a letter grade
reduction.
Schedule of Presentations for Fall 2002 The student is responsible for the following
schedule whether or not s/he receives any further notice of these meetings.
