Holly Barnett (2000) went on to a Master's in history with a concentration in public history from Middle Tennessee State University and now works as an architectural historian with the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation.

Benjamin Alexander ('99) was a reporter for the Commercial Dispatch in Columbus before moving on to be a journalist in Meridian, Mississippi.

Mendy Carnathan ('05) became Director of Student Activities at Martin Methodist College in Tennessee.

Mike Renacker ('95) went on to an M.A. in historical archeology at the University of West Florida, and became an archaeologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, Mississippi.

John Harris ('05) went on to teach U.S. history at Hatley High School, in Amory, Mississippi.

Internships are an excellent way for History majors to explore careers in various fields, including those related to historical study. See the department's page on internships or contact Dr. Michael Burger.
