Do I have to sign up for Leadership class?
All Leadership Scholars must take Leadership classes.
Freshmen take LDR 101 in the Fall; Sophomores take LDR 201
in the Fall; Junior Transfers take LDR 250 in the Fall; ALL
Juniors take LDR 301 in the Spring; Seniors take LDR 401 in
the Fall.
2.
I cannot sign up for my leadership class because I
will have an overload of hours? What should I do?
Sign up for your Leadership class! Let the Hearin Intern know
that you were charged for an overload and the charges will
be waived accordingly.
3.
What should I do if I cannot take the Leadership
class because I have a time conflict with a class in my
major?
You should complete a Written Excuse for Missing Leadership
Class form. This form must be signed by your advisor to be
approved. You will then have different requirements to
fulfill your LDR class requirement.
4.
I am a current student at MUW and I received a
monetary award from the Hearin Leadership Program; What are
my requirements?
You should follow the requirements that fit your
classification status.
5.
I was awarded a W-Hearin scholarship and not a Hearin
Scholarship. Are my requirements any different?
Simply put – no. The requirements described apply to you as
well.
6.
What do I do if I have trouble getting community
service hours?
Contact the Office of Community Service to obtain community
service availability. The office will have all available
community service activities that you can engage in.
Additionally, the Hearin Community Service committee will
sponsor events each month in which you can take part.
7.
How do I find clubs and/or organizations to join?
Contact the Office of Student Life. The Office of Student
life will be happy to assist you in finding a place in one
of over 75 student organizations on campus.
8.
What happens if I am unable to maintain a 2.5 GPA, or
meet the other requirements detailed one the checklist?
You will be unable to keep your scholarship if you are unable
to fulfill the requirements.
9.
Do I have to stay on campus?
It is required that Freshmen Scholars stay on campus. It is
encouraged that you stay on campus for the community living
experience; however, it is not a requirement after the
Freshman year. |
