Creative Writing, MFA (Low Residency)

Mississippi University for Women has been approved to offer a Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing. Pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, we anticipate launching the program in August of 2015. It is a 48-hour program that can be completed in two to three years (or longer if students choose to attend part time). Students take online classes, combined with two types of brief residency classes. Online classes  include Graduate Writing Workshops in Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction, Playwriting, Translation, and Writing for New Media, as well as Literature and Form classes.

Business Administration, MBA (Online)

The W's Master of Business Administration degree is designed to develop the skills required for careers in business; however, is not limited strictly to the business world. It is a beneficial degree choice for working professionals who need to obtain additional education to reach their occupational goals. It prepares students to work in a wide range of industries and professions.

The program teaches students to become progressive business leaders that can analyze a situation and create effective, practical solutions. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are emphasized. The MBA provides a graduate education in foundational business practices, such as accounting, finance, management information systems, marketing and management. The comprehensive core curriculum builds the foundation necessary for success in any field, while electives offer insight into specialized areas of expertise.

The MUW Graduate Nursing Program was established in 1975 to offer a plan of study leading to a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.

This historic program has maintained full nursing accreditation status since its initial accreditation.

Post Graduate APRN Certificate Program

There are two Post Graduate APRN Certificate Programs (RN to FNP and APRN to FNP Track). One for individuals who are not nurse practitioners but hold a Master of Science in Nursing degree (the RN to FNP option), and one for nurse practitioners who hold a Master of Science in Nursing degree but are nationally certified in another specialty (the MSN APRN to FNP option).
