Step 1: Submit - Applications

possible after January 1st each year
for the coming school year at
www.mississippiuniversities.com.

Step 2: Confirm - that your application was
received
- Federal
student aid applicants will receive
a Student Aid Report (SAR) as a
result of filing the FAFSA.
(Students who file the FAFSA over
the web will receive an email
message from the Federal Processor
directing them to their SAR online.)
Review the information on the SAR
for accuracy and to be sure
Mississippi University for Women is
listed as a college to receive your
FAFSA results. Submit additional
documents if required.
- Application
status updates for federal student
aid and private alternative loan
applicants can be viewed online by
logging into
Banner web with your MUW ID and
Password.
- The
Mississippi Office of Student
financial Aid in Jackson will notify
you of state aid awards. If you are
unsure call 1-800-327-2980 for
updates.
Step 3: Award Notification/Loan Processes
As soon as each
student is awarded federal student aid
funds the Financial Aid Center will
notify the applicant of the award as
follows:
- Currently
enrolled students or new students
who have been issued an official MUW
BANNER Password will receive an
electronic notification that will
direct them to
Banner web. By using the
Password students can then accept or
decline awards.
- Students who
have not yet been issued an official
MUW BANNER Password will receive a
paper Award Notification and
Supplemental Information Form
through the U. S. Postal Service.
This document must be completed and
returned to MUW before the award
process can be finalized.
