and Financial Aid Appeals
Scholarship Appeals
Mississippi University for Women requires
that students who are receiving
institutional scholarships maintain a
minimum G.P.A of 3.0 and complete at least
24 hours per academic year (Fall, Spring, &
Summer). Students who fail to meet either of
the requirements due to extenuating
circumstances may submit an appeal that is
reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. If
you believe your situation should be
considered, please submit a written appeal
to the Financial Aid Center. Students can
also appeal for the continuation of their
scholarship if the student has not completed
their degree program within the allotted
timeframe.
Financial Aid Appeals
Mississippi University for Women requires
that students who receive financial aid from
the Federal Title IV program (Pell, FSEOG,
Stafford loans, etc.), must remain in
satisfactory academic progress to continue
to receive these federal funds. The minimum
requirements to remain eligible for federal
aid are an overall G.P.A of 2.0 and a course
completion ratio of at least 67%. A
student’s completion ratio includes courses
the student received a letter grade for, a
withdrawal, incompletes, and withdrawals
passing or failing. Students who fail to
meet either requirement due to extenuating
circumstances may submit an appeal. If you
believe your situation should be considered,
please submit an appeal in writing to the
financial aid center.
Students who receive federal aid are also
required to complete their degree within 192
attempted hours.
