- Each nominee for the Hall of Master Teachers is
evaluated by a seven-member In-State Selection Committee consisting of
three classroom teachers, two school administrators, a parent, and a
representative of the business/professional community.
- Separate selection committees are chosen by the MHMT
Steering Committee for the evaluation of elementary and
secondary school nominees. The committees meet together in Columbus in June
each year.
- The selection of finalists for induction involves a
comparative evaluation of the candidates in each group. For each of the
items on the Evaluation Form, the candidate judged to be best is awarded
the maximum points available for the item. The other candidates are then
awarded points in comparison. If two or more candidates are judged to be
equally strong for a particular item on the Evaluation Form, all are given the
maximum number of points for that item.
- Generally, any nominee who receives 85 per cent of the
total points possible from an In-State Committee will be recognized as a
finalist.
