Older Wiser Learning Students

O.W.L.S. - Never Give Up. Never Give In.

O.W.L.S. is a student organization for adult learners. Who is an "adult learner?" Adult learners include anyone who is 25 years or older, younger students with adult responsibilities such as raising children or care of parents, and those who are veterans.

What is O.W.L.S.?
Older Wiser Learning Students (O.W.L.S.):

  • Identifies adult learners at MUW
  • Identifies the needs of adult learners
  • Provides a supportive academic climate
  • Monitors the recruitment, retention, and
    status of adult learners
  • Recommends changes in policy, practice, and procedures that negatively impact adult learners

Need a place to study or relax?
A lounge with a refrigerator, microwave, soda machine, sofa and chairs, is available to accomodate adult learners and commuter students. It is located in the Education and Human Sciences Building, Room 224.

This special room allows adult learners to have a place to study, relax, talk with others, or eat lunch brought from home.

Meeting Times
When: 2nd and 4th Mondays at 12:15
Where: The MUW Cafeteria
