Mississippi College & Career Readiness Standards for Mathematics

The 2016 Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards (MS CCRS) for Mathematics were created to provide a basis for curriculum development for Grades K-12 mathematics teachers. They outline what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of each grade level and course in order to be successful in college and careers and to compete in the global economy. This guide was created by instructors and teacher participants at the 2016 CCRS-M summer institute for middle school mathematics teachers to focus on the terms, concepts and real-life applications of the standards for grades 5 through 8.

Grade 5

The Grade 5 focus areas include Operations and Algebraic Thinking (OA), Number and Operations in Base Ten (NBT), Number and Operations - Fractions (NF), Measurement and Data (MD), and Geometry (G).
