Bachelor of Fine Arts
The BFA in Fine Arts is a professional degree for students who want intensive study of the visual arts. The BFA is comprised of five areas of emphasis.
• Ceramics
• Drawing and Painting
• Graphic Design
• Photography
• Printmaking
Students can apply for the BFA after successfully completing the Foundation Portfolio Review.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 124 semester hours, 52 total hours taken in the Art and Design Department.

NOTE: Some courses required in the major will also fulfill requirements for the University core curriculum. Students should always meet with a faculty advisor for information on course scheduling, course rotation, course selection and to plan the most efficient program of study.
All students must participate in the MUW Juried Student Exhibition in the freshman, sophomore, and junior years, and in the senior exhibition.
Minors
Students majoring in another department may wish to enhance their education with a minor in art history or general art.· The Art History Minor consists of a series of humanities courses focusing on the history of art. The General Art Minor is a combination of hands-on studio experience with some art history.
Art History Minor
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: To graduate with a minor in Art History, you must complete 18 semester hours in the Department of Art and Design.
