Project Designer

Marathon Equipment Company, a leader in the waste and recycling equipment industry, is seeking an energetic Project Designer (mechanical equipment design) to join their Engineering Department at its Vernon, Alabama facility. This is an excellent opportunity with a growing company.

The successful candidate must be creative, a self-starter with attention to detail, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position includes responsibility for design, development, and order processing of machine products used in the recycling industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2-year post secondary technical degree, preferably in drafting and design or mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 3 years experience in machine design
• Creativity and ability to accomplish projects with minimum supervision
• Proficiency in AutoCad 2006/Mechanical Desktop and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Excellent oral, written and organizational skills
• Ability to interact with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot and optimize designs
• Ability to interact with Sales and Purchasing Departments to coordinate projects
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good project management skills
