The Long Term Hospital of Tuscaloosa is a 27 bed specialty hospital designed to meet the special needs of patients who are too ill to benefit from services provided by rehabilitation or skilled nursing facilities, need specialized nursing care & technologically advanced therapies, and whose average length of stay meets or exceeds 25 days.  The Long Term Hospital of Tuscaloosa is located within DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and is owned and operated by Noland Health Services, Inc.

How a Long Term Hospital differs from Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)

Volunteer Positions

for students who are interested in a career in medicine and would like to work and observe providers in a rural healthcare environment in eastern Kentucky.

At the Frontier Nursing Service our Courier Volunteer Program for young adults 18 years or older allows observation of certified nurse-midwives, family nurse-practitioners and medical doctors. In addition, volunteers are asked to perform simple errands at our hospital, clinics and headquarters.

The Frontier Nursing Service Courier Volunteer Program is located at Wendover, Kentucky, the home of Mary Breckinridge, founder of the Frontier Nursing Service. Mrs. Breckinridge's home was designated a National Historic Landmark and is also a Bed & Breakfast Inn.
