Accounting Specialist Senior (PIN 0002)

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an experienced accountant to independently manage day to day operation of the accounts payable, receivable and grant activities. Ideal candidate must possess knowledge of the state SAAS/SPHARS accounting system and be proficient in Microsoft Excel application. Position offers opportunities for growth and future advancement. Annual salary - $40,131.68.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Business Administration (AND) Five (5) years of experience in work related to the above described duties; two (2) years of which must have been directly related; (OR) A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Business Administration (AND) Six (6) years of experience in work related to the above described duties; two (2) years of which must have been directly related. Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the Mississippi State Board of Public Accountants may be substituted for two (2) years of the required general or managerial experience. Certification by the Institute of Internal Auditors as a Certified Internal Auditor may be substituted for one (1) year of the required general or managerial experience.

Required Document: Applicant must attach a copy of his/her license as a Certified Public Accountant or certification as a Certified Internal Auditor, when applicable. This position is classified as State Service, Exempt. See Web Site for complete description (www.mpbonline.org).

Must have 3-5 years of general accounting experience, including financial auditing experience. Work experience in public accounting is preferred, however, not required. Must have strong experience and knowledge with GAAP.
