Plagiarism Prevention through Assignment Design (Mon. 9 Jan, 2017 11:15 am - 12:15 pm)

Are you frustrated by repeated instances of plagiarism in your classes but not sure what you can do to stop it? You’re not alone! In this workshop we will discuss the root causes of plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty and what you can do now to reduce the number of plagiarism cases in your courses this semester. Techniques discussed will work for online or face-to-face classes.

Office Mix is a powerful tool that you can use to turn your PowerPoint presentations into interactive lessons. For example, you can record audio of yourself narrating a lesson, embed video of yourself speaking to students, and even record yourself drawing on your slides, all within the familiar landscape of Microsoft Office. Office Mix is a FREE add-on for PowerPoint and available for download online.

Pulse Check: Mid-semester Course Evaluations (Mon. 9 Jan, 2017 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm)

Gathering student feedback at mid-semester is optimal for an instructor to get the pulse of the course––to find out what students are thinking about the instructor, the course material, and their own learning–– when it is not too late to make adjustments if necessary. Learn about the benefits of a mid-semester evaluation and how the Kossen Center can help you gather, interpret, and utilize student feedback before the course ends.

Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved from one LMS to another. Whether you are a veteran of online testing or relatively new to it, Respondus will save you hours on each test. The 3rd Annual Desserts and The Dream Event

Cochran Hall Limbert Assembly Room

The program will recognize and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., feature guest speaker, and special performances by the United Harmony gospel choir Student Organization.

Program partners include the Young Black Leadership Association, United Harmony Student Organizations and the Office of Student Life.
