Welcome to the website for the Summer
Institute for Teacher Excellence, funded through a U.S. Department of
Education (DOE) and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) grant under No
Child Left Behind. The SITE 2009 institute was entitled TEAMS, for
Technology Enrichment of Algebra in Middle School. The TEAMS title also
means Together Everyone Achieves More Success thereby emphasizing the
importance of collaboration among students and between students and
teachers. Twenty teachers, grades 6 through 9, from northeast Mississippi school districts, participated in the June 2009 institute. The goal of the institute was to align mathematics education in Mississippi with national mathematics and technology standards, 21st century classroom technology, and Web 2.0 innovative ideas. . | ||||||||||
