Welcome to the website for the Summer
Institute for Teacher Excellence, funded through a U.S. Department of
Education (DOE) and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) grant under No
Child Left Behind. The SITE 2007 institute was entitled
Middle School Mathematics in Context. Eighteen teachers, grades 4 through 9, from northeast Mississippi school districts, participated in the June 2007 institute. The goal was to make math instruction more student-centered, hands-on, and technology-oriented. The focus was on the new Mississippi Mathematics Framework which emphasizes activities, problem-solving and real-world applications. | ||||||
